Broyles, Bill

Bill Broyles is an author, oral historian, desert wanderer, and retired English teacher for the Tucson Unified School District, among other things. This interview covers themes such as growing up in Tucson in the 1950s and 1960s, exploring the deserts of Southwest Arizona and Northwest Sonora, Bill’s work recording and publishing stories, experiences at TUSD, and a few anecdotes about friends Charles Bowden, Joe Wilder, and Julian Hayden.
